Winter update

With 15,000 road miles under our belt so far this show season, I wanted to take a moment and catch up a little bit. At this point we still have three more woodworking shows to go before the 2015 season comes to an end. It is unbelievably difficult, even with modern technology, to publish a weekly newsletter from a hotel room halfway across the country. My travel season will be mostly over the end of March and I will resume the newsletters on a weekly basis. This is been an especially productive season so look forward to lots of new products, kits, DVDs, and all things turning.

First, let me express my profound appreciation and gratitude as I travel the country and get nothing but positive feedback on this newsletter from scores of different folks from all walks of life. I know not everyone agrees with the tone and flavor every time but in the main it has been very well received. So as long as you choose to subscribe I will continue sending the newsletter.

As many of you are aware, Sweet Janice made her professional demonstrating debut this season. She hit the ground running with her superglue, or CA finishing demonstrations. We even celebrated a wedding anniversary in Detroit. When I tell everybody that I talked Sweet Janice into early retirement so we could run off and join the circus that is actually a lot more accurate than you would think. We have had the time of our lives and have never been happier, it was a great decision. So many of you can now put a name with a face and Sweet Janice is astounded at how many people shake her hand and say they’re glad to finally meet “Sweet Janice” in person. Thank you for the encouragement you have shown to her.

I would also like to announce that I have purchased an Epilog laser for the purpose of offering laser cut overlay and inlay kits. There’s been a tremendous demand everywhere I go for fancy Christmas ornament globe kits like the ones featured in my fancy Christmas ornament DVD series and on my segmented top DVD. I initially plan to produce DIY kits to make Christmas ornament globes, lidded box inserts and Mason jar lid overlays; More information on this in upcoming newsletters. Kits should be available beginning in May 2015.

I would encourage you to visit the website at www.RonBrownsbest.com as we have added many new products and will continue to add more in the coming months. For example: a master Peppermill turning kit which includes carbide forstner bits and Delrin type jamb chucks, an off–center Chuck (pendant jig), 8 inch CBN is grinding wheels, and scores of other items.

Your feedback is always welcomed and important in my effort to continue to meet your needs and serve the turning community with new methods, techniques and cutting edge products.

Because, “Wherever you go, there you are!”
