The Power Of Two or More
I want to begin by saying that I’m more excited and hopeful for the future of the United States of America as the greatest nation on earth than ever before. I write this week’s newsletter a few days after a nearly successful assignation attempt on a former president of our United States of America, Donald J. Trump.
I know perfectly well that some of you reading this don’t agree with me politically or spiritually. I hope you will support me for the things we have in common and will continue to pray for our country and for those in leadership over us. Everyone here at Ron Brown’s Best realizes that we are called to serve not to be served and we do our best every day to fulfill that assignment.
Only two days after the unsuccessful assignation attempt, the Republican National Convention met for 4 days in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I think we can all agree that our nation received a wake–up call on Saturday regardless of your political persuasion.
The old idiom “United we stand, divided we fall” should ring true now more than ever. I’m grateful that more people were not killed and I’m sad for Corey Comperatore, his family, and the two other victims who survived. The call for unity is absolutely necessary if we are to survive as a functioning “Free Society” in a world full of chaos and division. Corey was the embodiment of the verse that says “John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends.” Corey died covering his family and sacrificed his life for theirs.
We don’t have to agree with everyone on everything to walk in love and support for our common good. Please join me in unity as we work together to make America the land of the free and the home of the brave. I encourage you to consider yourself an American and not just a Democrat or a Republican. Remember that wherever you go, there you are.
Here is my inspiration for this message:
(Eccl 4:9 [AMP]) Two are better than one, because they have a good [more satisfying] reward for their labor;
(Eccl 4:12 [NIV2]) Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
(Matt 18:20 [NIV2]) For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
