Clear Direction for 2016
You can feel it everywhere you go in almost every conversation, 2016 is going to be different. As diligent blessed people we don’t walk through life without a purpose. Even in our later years it is important that we stay on course and be that person God intended for us to be.
We have chosen working with wood to be worthy of our time our efforts and our money. It provides the perfect outlet for our creative urges needs and wants and connects us with a worldwide community of like–minded individuals. But this year will be different, it will be special. I’m not talking about “the typical New Year’s resolutions” but rather your specific plan and a purpose for the next 12 months.
Although many of us have reached that point in our lives when we are no longer worried about our career, or even just making a living, we are still charged with making a difference. Most of us have to live through the temptations and mistakes of our youths to acquire any sort of wisdom at all. It is incumbent upon all of us to exercise that wisdom and make a difference regardless of our age. It begins with our own family, our children, our grandchildren and other folks we meet along the way and in many cases, around the world.
Seriously considering the following five questions will help you find your direction and develop your specific plan for this very special year:
What three things are most important to me personally? What three things are important to my spouse? What three gifts (talents, abilities, skill sets) can I share with others in 2016 to make a difference?Which three new skills do I want to learn in 2016 and how am I going to make that happen? Where? When?If I am to be all that God intended me to be in 2016, what three personal habits am I going to practice which will help me to be that person?
This year matters more than most. Everyone I know feels the same way. Do your part prayerfully and diligently. It is a presidential election year, get involved and do more than just vote. We are!
In a few days the 2016 show season begins with the first show in Baltimore, MD. Sweet Janice and I are prepared and excited about this season, our 10th on this particular show circuit and our 47th together. We are looking forward to reconnecting with so many of you that we see only once each year, but you are special nonetheless.
I will do my best to keep up with the newsletters each week no matter how brief because wherever you go, there you are.
My inspirations for this week’s message follow here:
Eccl 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Prov 11:14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
Prov 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
