Changing The World One At A Time

You may not be able to change the world for everyone but you can change the world for someone.

We are each just one person, what can we do? Everyone has a purpose and we are all different. Some folks never figure out what their purpose is, others know almost from birth. I found my calling later in life.

One cold December Saturday morning between Christmas and New Year, I watched my very first ever turning demonstration, it was Nick Cook. He changed my world and all he did was make some demonstration gift items, a top, a plate, a garden dibble, and a honey dipper.

Now 25+ years later, I became a professional turner and demonstrated turning in front of over a million people from coast to coast and border to border during my 13 seasons on the Woodworking Show Circuit. I’ve invented over a dozen unique accessories for turners and sell them worldwide. Our little business is booming and brings great joy to our whole family.

You never know how large the small seed you sew today will grow up to be tomorrow. Don’t pre–judge anyone from that 12–year–old student to the old retired man or woman with shaky hands. I recently read Kimberly Winkle has been elected to the AAW board of directors. Although Kimberly is an extremely accomplished artist and college professor, someone demonstrated turning for her somewhere along the way.

You never know just who your simple demonstration might inspire to greatness.

There are people who will never see a turning demonstration unless you do it. Today’s opportunity might not come around again. Lyrics from Michael West’s song “Do Something“ seem appropriate here;

“If not us, then who?

If not me and you?

Right now, it's time for us to do something

If not now, then when

Will we see an end

To all this pain?

It's not enough to do nothing

It's time for us to do something”

Remember that wherever you go, there you are. Here is my inspiration for this message:

Matt 13:23 MSG "The seed cast on good earth is the person who hears and takes in the News, and then produces a harvest beyond his wildest dreams."

Matt 17:20 NASB And He *said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.

Acts 10:34 NASB Opening his mouth, Peter said: “I most certainly understand [now] that God is not one to show partiality,
