Make 2017 The Best Ever

Through our woodturning hobby, business, craft or pastime we have vast opportunities to affect other people. How we do it and to whom is up to us, but nothing happens until we do something. The New Year will be here in six days. Don’t let it arrive without a plan.

Most of the folks involved in woodturning do it as a hobby. It’s fun! It can be a social medium to meet with like–minded individuals and share creative moments. It can be an avenue to make new life–long friendships. We can express our appreciation for others sacrifices by giving gifts. Woodturning is the only hobby I can think of that can be self–funding if we want it to be. We can sell enough of what we make to acquire more turning stuff. Making and selling pens is a great example. Woodturning can bridge the generation gap and let us connect with our kids and grandkids; perhaps even the neighborhood kids.

If you are retired and don’t have a regular job, give some thought to planning for the new year just as you would have done when you were in business, or when you had to submit goals for the coming year to your superiors. These were certainly followed by a plan for accomplishing those goals. If you don’t have a plan and a road map for 2017, you won’t be the one to decide where you end up in this wonderful New Year God has granted to us. Because wherever you go there you are. Sweet Janice and I wish you a very Happy and Prosperous New Year in 2017.

Prov 4:7 NIV2

The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.

Luke 14:28 NIV2

Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?
