4” Chuck

This chuck is ideal for all lathes with swings from 10” up to 25” and is durable enough for use with even the largest wood lathes. Typically when installing a steel chuck on a smaller lathe, the weight of the chuck can place unnecessary strain on the motor and spindle bearings. This innovative weight saving aluminum alloy material is considerably lighter (around 40%) than other typical chucks. Its added durability of this special aluminum alloy makes it ideal for all lathes, but especially beneficial for lathes with motors of 1 HP or less. It works great for all projects from bowls and hollow vessels to pens, goblets, tops and all spindle projects. Dovetail Jaws on the #2 & #3 jaws provide exceptional holding power.
