WD39???

You’ve heard of WD40, why not WD39?

“In 1953, a fledgling company called Rocket Chemical Company and its staff of three set out to create a line of rust-prevention solvents and degreasers for use in the aerospace industry.

Working in a small lab in San Diego, California, it took them 40 attempts to get the water displacing formula worked out. But they must have been really good, because the original secret formula for WD-40® -which stands for Water Displacement perfected on the 40th try—is still in use today.

Convair, an aerospace contractor, first used WD-40® to protect the outer skin of the Atlas Missile from rust and corrosion. The product actually worked so well that several employees snuck some WD-40® cans out of the plant to use at home.”

The preceding history is quoted directly from the WD-40 official website.

Today, I’m introducing a brand new product, another one of our own WD-40’s in our “Amazing” line of products. The final version only took 8 or 9 tries instead of 40. Stories like the WD-40 company instruct and inspire me as I work through various stages of development in order to get a design perfected so I can share it outside of my own workshop. The victory almost never comes quickly or easily. Success comes through persistence, patience and the willingness to fail and try again over time.

I would like to encourage you to keep working on your projects realizing that with time you will solve the problems and a solution will present itself if you don’t quit. You are familiar with the old saying “Out of sight, out of mind”. I draw a diagram of some sort of my project and pin it up on the wall in my office. A quick glance every now and then keeps that idea fresh in my mind. As that image rolls around in my subconscious, solutions dawn on me over time. It is usually when I’m not even consciously trying to solve a particular problem.

Look around at the successful endeavors you see every day and the people associated with them and learn those lessons. I look to the Holy Bible for my personal inspiration (I focus on Proverbs for wisdom) and see modern day examples of how those principles are applied. I note both the good examples and the bad examples. I try to emulate the good examples and avoid the bad ones. I do my best to apply Godly wisdom and understanding learned from each case because wherever you go, there you are.

Here is my inspiration for this message:

Prov 8:12 KJV I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.

2Tim 3:16-17 HCSB All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

2 Peter 1:4-7 MSG We were also given absolutely terrific promises to pass on to you - your tickets to participation in the life of God after you turned your back on a world corrupted by lust. So don't lose a minute in building on what you've been given, complementing your basic faith with good character, spiritual understanding, alert discipline, passionate patience, reverent wonder, warm friendliness, and generous love, each dimension fitting into and developing the others.
