In a very few short months, Sweet Janice and I will have been married a long time. Too often I hear her say "Don't forget to bring whatever you cut off this time and I'll drive." You think I'm kidding, but not really. I know personally that direct pressure will usually stop most of the bleeding and that you should use your good hand to retrieve all of your body parts and bring them with you. I also know stitches come out between 10 and 14 days on average. This time of year we usually ramp up our work in the shop in preparation for the coming holiday season so this is just a reminder to be careful and use you personal safety gear. Cutting tools don't play favorites or care what they cut.
