Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, it got better. . . a lot better.
A very simple design modification enables the use of the Longworth Chuck Type 2 in BOTH the traditional Longworth self-centering scrolling mode and in the Doughnut Ring Mode at the same time ( with the optional doughnut ring assembly).
You can now use the Longworth Chuck Type 2 in three different modes:
1) Traditional Longworth Mode very self-centering
2) Doughnut Chuck Mode - very secure using the optional doughnut ring and 4 through bolts.
3) Both Modes Together - Longworth and Doughnut!
What this means to you is that you get all the advantages of a chuck which will self-center your vessel plus the advantages of the doughnut ring which is much more secure and you don't need to use the tailstock.
