Be Careful What You Pray For, You Might Get It!
I have loved working with wood since I was six years old. My Dad made his own lathe and I used it to turn wooden darts with nails for points and chicken feathers for the flight. Over the years I have done practically everything in woodworking from making custom furniture to commercial to residential subdivisions and now I do a little turning. It really is in my blood.
I have always wanted a really big shop, industrial sized with a fork lift and everything. Or, so I thought. That isn’t really what I enjoy. I enjoy being in the shop making sawdust. I love creating something new and beautiful out of wood and other complimentary materials. Putting my own twist on familiar items which make them better, easier or more fun for other people is actually at the core of my enjoyment. That space doesn’t need to be big. It needs to suit me and it does.
What appears to others to be a mess is really the way my mind works. My hands can’t keep up with my overactive imagination so clutter is the result. I know about where everything is and I can usually find it in short order. No one else could, but that doesn’t matter. As long as I can find what I want to do what I need to, that is all that matters. I always have five or six projects working at the same time so each pile relates to one of those projects, really it does. Between new products, old products in high demand, video projects in the works, halfway finished and in the planning stages, the demanding show schedule and the everyday tasks associated with running a successful business, there isn’t a lot of time to just watch the grass grow. That is the way I like it. Anything else would seem to be slacking off in my world. And that just isn’t how I’m wired.
I think I just described the symptoms of a very happy workaholic, so be careful what you pray for when you are six years old, you just might get it! Always remember that wherever you go, there you are.

My IT department has been working their fingers to to bone trying to convert my How-To DVD's to play on tablets, smart phones and all of the modern platforms that were not available when I began offering them. Our decision was to utilize a FREE app which is universally compatible with all platforms currently offered. These videos are for purchase, they are not free. They are complete and menu driven just like the original DVDs. I will be adding more titles after the show season is over. If you have purchased DVD's before, these are exactly the same. If you just want to view them on the modern platforms, you will need to repurchase each title.
How it works.
These videos play through an APPLICATION (app) which is free to download and is about 10 megs. They will play on virtually any device, but you have to have the app installed on each device just like any other modern program. It was quite costly on our end to have this done, but we are still able to offer quality full length How-To woodturning videos at fair prices. Thanks for your business. Quick Note:
We have lost the date for the Milwaukee show this year so their apparently won't be a Milwaukee show this season. I understand plans are being made for a fill-in show nearby, but nothing has been finalized just yet. I'll keep you posted.
