Be Careful What You Ask For, You Just Might Get It!

The past four weeks have been crazy busy. We rolled out our new line of Laser Cut Kits hoping folks would like them and that we would sell a few to keep the heat on and buy a few groceries. As a Christian family, we covered our plans with prayer before we launched this effort. Sometimes you hear nothing from Heaven, sometimes he opens the flood gates which is what happened this time around.

What I want to share with you here is about handling situations like these. I’m so proud of the way my family-team all pitched in to make it happen. Yes, we were late getting some of the orders out, and yes some customers were a little impatient. All of the orders were eventually shipped, most were even shipped correctly. It has been a long while since our work days ended at 4 and 5 am. We had to pull together as a team, taking shifts working around the clock; some slept while others worked to make use of all 24 hours in every day 7 days each week to keep the machinery running and get the work done. I was reminded of our nation’s farmers at harvest time running the combines 20 hours a day to gather the crops.

Every member of our team put in over 100 hours for the last three weeks. Obstacles? You bet. One of my domains expired without notice right in the middle of this. It turns out that they had the wrong email address for notification that payment was due. I was without email for 4 days until it got resolved and the supporting website was off-line. Our internet connection was very intermittent due to heavy rains here in the Atlanta area. My materials supplier didn’t have the correct inventory in stock so extra work was needed to prepare products. One of my main machines locked up unexpectedly providing a heart-stopping scare momentarily until I figured out how to get it back into operation.

When it counted, every member of our team hunkered down and pulled together to get the job done professionally so that we could be proud of our work and the services we provide to folks who are counting on us for a Merry Christmas for their families. All I can say is a huge thank you to the team and to all of our very patient customers. At least for the moment, things are somewhat back to normal as evidenced by this newsletter. When it is all said and done, all you have are your friends and family. Because, wherever you go, there you are.

Here is my inspiration for this message:

Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12

9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! 11 Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? 12 And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Due to Overwhelmingly Popular Demand, I have authorized another Christmas Ornament Sale. Now 20 different designs to choose from! Please only select five (5) designs with this offer.

Quick Survey Question:

I have located a source of Black Walnut for the core material in bulk form.

I would have to mill each core to 1.75" x 1.75" x 4.5" long (+- 1/16"). I'm trying to decide if I should offer cores to go with the Laser Cut Ornament Kits.

Do you think I should I offer Black Walnut Cores cut to size ready for glue up?

What is a fair price for packs of 5 core blocks? Keep in mind that I have to mill them from larger stock.

Email me here with your thoughts, please.

These Laser Cut Kits can be used for way more than just Christmas Ornaments. Below are some examples of turned lidded boxes and small vases made using them. There is even a bottle stopper made from one panel of the Fleur-de-lis kit.

Jesus Christ is the reason for the season and you might wish to order a single cross or a triple cross like I have here. By popular request I have just introduced a single cross also.

And of course popular year-round is anything with a heart. And just in case you would actually like to make something other than a Christmas ornament here are a couple of examples of hollow forms using these exact laser cut kits. You can probably imagine the OH’s and Ah’s that I get when folks see these two pieces.

The Fleur-de-lis is an astoundingly popular kit since this pattern is a New Orleans Saints football logo, used as the Boy Scout logo, is also popular with folks of the Catholic persuasion and numerous other groups.

We are currently offering a total of 20 different designs so I would encourage you to make this Christmas special was something that has just hit the market, something you can’t get anywhere else, and something which will make your gift that much more special and memorable.

I invite you to consider this week’s sale prices as there will never be a better time to take advantage of these fantastic new kits from Ron Brown’s Best with savings of up 50% off suggested retail selling prices.

Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and God’s Blessings this Christmas Season.

* 50% off retail selling price is based on a quantity purchase.

African Blackwood Sale

Perfect for Christmas Ornament Finials - Icicles

I have secured a very limited supply of African Blackwood turning blanks 1" x 1" x 5-1/2". The photo shows a finial I just turned from one of the squares. Similar to Gabon Ebony, but easier to turn and much less brittle, this material is almost identical to ebony when turned. I recorded a couple of short videos for you including "Finials for Mortals". Tis the season for Christmas Ornaments.

Also wonderful for pen blanks, miniature bird house finials, etc.
